Whilst I didn’t get to see much else of this year’s Festival of Nature, we had a great time in the Green Forum with nearly 300 visitors over the Sat and Sun!
The theme was biodiversity with folks painting in a variety of bugs to either blend in with their environment or stand out with bright warning colours. We had ladybirds, grasshoppers, dragonflies, caterpillars, and of course, butterflies.
The mix of sunshine and showers meant that on Saturday we had regular floods of people sheltering from the down pours, with 150 of them taking the time to visit our stand. We didn’t check everyone but I think we had all ages from 2 to 92!
Sunday was a little more subdued (weather wise and numbers) but we still saw 112 visitors on the stand. Things were so busy on both days that we had to spill over into our neighbours stand (Yatton and Congresbury Wildlife Action Group).
Thanks go to Savita and the team at the Bristol Natural History Consortium for hosting another fantastic weekend, and to everyone who came along. Thanks also go to Sam, Harriet and Katy for helping out on the stand.
See you next year!
