Annual General Meeting 2011

BRISTOL & BATH BRANCH ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING will take place at 6.30pm, WEDNESDAY 23^rdNOVEMBER at THE FRIENDS MEETING HOUSE 126 Hampton Road, Redland, Bristol BS6 6JE. This is the occasion your Branch’s Officers report on the past year and when you will have the opportunity to elect the Branch Committee to carry forward the programme for the coming year.

Your input is very important and we welcome nominations from British Science Association members and supporters who would like to serve on the Committee as committee members or officers. It is not necessary to be a British Science Association member to join the Committee although membership is essential for the offices of Chair, Hon Secretary and Hon Treasurer. The present committee is proposing John Bradford to serve as Chair, Becky Moran as Hon Secretary and Maddy Foard as Hon Treasurer for the year 2011-2012.

Any nominations should be received at the address below by Wednesday 11^th November at the latest, those for officers with the names of a proposer and seconder who are both Association members.  Committee Members can also be nominated at the meeting. We also require formal notice of any agenda items or motions which Association members might wish to table at the AGM by the same date.

Quite apart from being Committee Members there are many ways in which you could support the Branch in its mission during the coming year and we look forward to hearing from you at any time.

The AGM will be followed at 7.00 by a talk by Dr Adam Hart, University of Gloucestershire “Saying it with Smells; How Ants and Bees cooperate through Chemicals”
